Sequences of lessons, progression and curricula

Our pathways section shows how p4c can integrate into subject areas, enrich cross-curricular initiatives and become a coherent and progressive element in teaching and learning. If you use the sub-menus in the left column, you will be able to filter the list according to the resource category. Sort any table in this section using the column headings. Our categories are:

  • Collections are pages of resources selected by teachers of different subjects and age groups of pupils. Collections enable members to benefit from other peoples' experiences, ideas, resources and curriculum models.
  • Themes are sequences of lessons built around important concepts. They will be useful in planning work around topics or a series of lessons on a philosophical theme.
  • Subjects category contains information, ideas and arguments to help you use philosophical inquiry in the teaching of individual subjects. It complements the collections submitted by teachers.
  • Progression is important. We share ideas for achieving different aspects of progression in p4c.
  • Across curricula concentrates on priorities such as: social and emotional aspects of learning (SEAL), critical and creative thinking, speaking and listening, citizenship, global citizenship, learning to learn and the creative curriculum.
