Community of Enquiry Framework
This is quite a simple framework to support those who may be starting out in the P4C world. It lists the stages of an enquiry and gives very brief notes on what each entails. This, of course, can all be found within the SAPERE Level 1 handbook (UK), in much greater detail and depth. Feedback up to now though suggests that it's proving to be a handy reminder that can be referred to during the enquiry.
Also useful is the same sheet but with the details missing (attached). This has been used to good effect when, for example, an enquiry is being observed by a teaching assistant. It allows them to note any observations in the relevant section and feed back to the teacher/facilitator, with further reinforcement of the structure involved. It's also useful as an informal planning tool, with notes being made in the appropriate stage, and a reflection guide.
To reiterate, this is a starting point resource, is highly customisable and no doubt capable of being improved. It does highlight, however, that there is a structure and that both planning and reflecting are to be encouraged if progress is to be made by both pupils and staff.
